Dr. Kauffman and her colleagues are available, on a limited basis, to provide Coaching Services. If you have a dream that has resisted your efforts to achieve, Pivot Point Coaching may help. There is no guarantee, but ask yourself, "Will seeking a coach increase my chances of success?" If so, please consider exploring the resources available to you in the coaching world. Do not feel obliged to explore my services, but do yourself the favor of exploring the possibilities. I will include some information to help you. Here is what to do, and what to watch out for: The coaching world is a mixed bag. Some practicing coaches have little training but have wonderful "natural" gifts. Others are sales people in disguise. Others are gifted and also have training and experience. One organization I believe to be the best is: Mentor Coach, (MentorCoach.com). This group is run by Ben Dean, PhD and is closely affiliated with the American Psychological Association. Unlike other coaching schools, this is the one that requires the coaches to have degrees in mental health. A vast majority of coaches in this group have doctorates in psychology or are licensed independent social workers. Psychologists as coaches is an exploding field right now. Dr. Martin Seligman (former president of APA) hopes to train thousands of psychologists as coaches over the next five years. Drs. Dean and Seligman are co-sponsoring this effort. The International Coaching Federation is another resource. Click here to see the ICF definition of coaching and coaching ethics. There you will find more coaches, however, their training and expertise will vary widely. It is a good idea to find two or three individuals and set up a first-time, consultation. Usually the first, half-hour consultation is free. If the 'click' feels right you may want to proceed. See how it works! Remember, no effort is too small to count. Explore the option of coaching to help make your goals a reality. And remember life isn't just about doing what you want to do -- its about Being who you really are. If you would like information about Pivot Point Coaching please contact me. Either I, or my associate Dr. Susan Parks will contact you as soon as we can!
